Denial of service attack

This type of attack prevents users from accessing a computer or website by overloading the server. Typically these are done using botnets where an attacker uses a command and control center to instruct zombie computers to access a website at the same time, at a rate much faster than the site’s servers can process, resulting in a website crash.
