Patch
A scheduled release of code update for an application, software, or operating system to tackle existing bugs or security flaws in the already deployed code. Patches can be used to introduce new features to the application as well. It is important to always apply software updates when recommended by your operating system or programs that you use as these contain patches to prevent you from being victim to an attack on a zero-day vulnerability.
